Papa John’s pizza founder John Schnatter was forced to do damage control to avoid another PR disaster after complaining loudly about the ongoing NFL protests last week.
It all began when the racists over at the Daily Stormer blog hopped onto the tail end of Schnatter’s decision to pull his NFL Ads over the National Anthem protests, which he blamed for hurting his pizza profits.
According to a Newsweek article, Schnatter was forced to tell the hothead racist group to stop eating his pizza after they adopted the pizza chain as “the official pizza of the ‘alt-right'”.
In a statement to the HuffPost, Schnatter said, “We condemn racism in all forms and any and all hate groups that support it. We do not want these individuals or groups to buy our pizza.”
But it may be too little too late. Papa John’s stock price fell nearly 10 percent in the days after he announced the decision to pull his NFL ads.
