An Islamic preacher is encouraging men to grow beards because clean-shaven men sometimes “cannot be distinguished from women”.
Speaking on a private religious station in Turkey, preacher Murat Bayaral chastised men who shave, saying clean-shaven faces cause “indecent thoughts”.
The Bible also encourages men to grow beards. Not only does facial hair make men look more mature and distinguished, but beards also make men look masculine.
“Men should grow beards. One of the two body parts that separate men from women is the beard,” Bayaral said, according to Hurriyet Daily News.
Bayaral said men must distinguish themselves from the female sex — especially in today’s PC culture where anything goes.
“For example, if you see a man with long hair from afar you may think he is a woman if he does not have a beard. Because nowadays women and men dress similarly. God forbid! You could be possessed by indecent thoughts,” he added.
