Abraham D Juste

ABC is desperate to boost ratings for Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish, starring Yara Shahidi as college freshman Zoey Johnson. The first 2 episodes received low ratings and negative reviews, mostly due to Yara’s annoying narration and all around bad acting by her supporting cast.

A New York Times‘ TV critic says Grown-ish is “still finding its identity” — that’s the mark of death in TV critic lingo.

So ABC/Freeform is pinning their hopes on a new character: Cassius “Cash” Mooney, played by tall, dark and handsome newcomer Abraham D. Juste.

Abraham, who goes by the nickname da’Vinchi in real life, plays a star shooting guard on the basketball team at Zoey’s mythical California University. He instantly catches Zoey’s eye when he asks for directions to the library, and the two hit it off.

In real-life, da’Vinchi is a God-fearing man who routinely cites Bible verses on his Instagram page).

The 6’3″ actor is also a model, influencer and prominent spoken-word/rap artist, according to Deadline.com.

Do you think da’Vinchi can save Yara’s new show, or is your Gaydar pinging off the radar?
