Delaware is preparing to pass a rule that would allow children to choose their own race and gender. The new rule will block the students’ parents from interfering in their child’s decision.

Under Delaware’s new Rule 225, gay and transgender children will be allowed to decide their race and whether they are girls or boys.

Transgender activist Mark Purpura praised the proposed rule, saying it is in the “best interest of the child” and helps support children who are “living in fear” of their parents.

But more than 11,000 Delaware citizens have opposed the rule, according to Breitbart News.

Delaware’s Democrat Gov. John Carney supports the measure, but State Rep. Rich Collins (R-Millsboro) opposes it, calling it “onerous” and “confusing.”

If the rule is approved, Delaware will become 1 of 18 states to enact rules or laws to address gender identification.
