Cardi B‘s life is in danger. The 25-year-old Bronx rapper was threatened on social media after she posted an Instagram.com image of herself wearing a blue fur coat last week. She captioned the image: “I hate flue but this coat was too poppin.”
Members of the Crips street gang took her caption as an insult because of the term “flue” — which merges the words “f-ck” and “blue”.
The Crips — whose arch enemies are the rival Bloods gang, which Cardi is affiliated with — dropped the letter ‘B’ from their vocabulary. Words that begin with ‘B’ are usually replaced with the letter ‘C’.

Cardi began receiving death threats from Crips gang members who warned her not to come to L.A. for the All Star game on February 18.
But the one-hit rapper has prior engagements to perform in nightclubs during All Star weekend.
In response to the threats, Cardi’s people have requested Secret Service level protection for the tiny rap artist at nightclubs where she is scheduled to perform.
Her camp is taking the threats seriously because preeminent rappers Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. were killed by rival gang members on the west coast in the prime of their careers.
Another reason why Cardi may not be long for this earth is some people will do anything to elevate their status in gang culture.
Take for instance PeeWee Roscoe, T.I.‘s former protégé, who shot up Lil Wayne‘s tour bus after a concert in Atlanta in 2015.
When police caught up to Roscoe, he reportedly told an officer he opened fire on the bus to increase his status in the Atlanta Bloods street gang.
Roscoe, who rose from a street urchin wannabe rapper to a respectable position as Young Thug‘s tour manager, is serving 10 years in a Georgia prison on mostly gang-related charges.
We pray that God watches over Cardi in Los Angeles, but if she loses her life at NBA All Star, how will she be remembered?
Has she reached the level of rap icon after just one hit?
