Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner earned at least $82 million while working in the White House last year, according to a report in the Washington Post.
On a financial disclosure form, Ivanka, the eldest daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, reported earnings of $3.9 million from her percentage of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. and more than $2 million in severance pay from the Trump empire.
But her husband Jared was the real breadwinner, reporting an income of over $5 million from his apartment complex in Plainsboro, New Jersey, as well as income from thousands of apartments in NJ and Maryland.
The couple’s combined income of $82 million in 2017 is a huge windfall for two people who work as unpaid advisers to the president.
Political analysts warn that the couple’s income could create potential conflicts of interest.
Both Ivanka and Kushner have given up daily oversight of their companies but Kushner still maintains a large stake in his businesses both foreign and domestic.
