Jasmine Jordan, Michael Jordan‘s firstborn daughter, is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Rakeem Christmas. The 2 lovebirds announced their engagement on social media over the weekend.
“Happily Engaged,” she tweeted under a photo of the couple holding their dogs.
Jasmine and Rakeem have had their ups and downs in the 5 long years they’ve been together.
He was there for her when she experienced heartbreak after she briefly dated a woman’s basketball player at Syracuse University, and she was there for him when his beloved dog died 2 years ago.
Jasmine, 25, graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in sports management. Rakeem was a starter on the Syracuse men’s basketball team in 2013 when the Orange advanced to the Final Four in 2013.
Rakeem was drafted in the second round of the NBA draft by the Indiana Pacers in 2015.
He currently plays overseas for the New Zealand Breakers pro team.
In 2013, during her bi-curious phase, Jasmine posted a photo of herself embracing former Syracuse guard Carmen Tyson-Thomas. The photo caption read: “That little closet is holding me back”.
Jasmine is Jordan’s only daughter with his ex-wife Juanita.
