The Broward County Sheriff’s office confirms an arrest has been made in the shooting death of troubled rapper XXXTentacion. Dedrick Wiilliams, 22, was taken into custody on Wednesday.
The arrest was confirmed to the NY Daily News by Broward County Sheriff’s Office Captain Robert Schakenberg.
Williams is charged with first-degree murder, probation violation for stealing a car, and driving without a license.
Williams and another man shot X multiple times as he sat in his BMW i8 outside a motorcycle dealer in Deerfield Beach, Florida on Monday. X died at the scene.
Police believe the men targeted the 20-year-old rap artist to rob him. A Louis Vuitton bag filled with cash was reportedly taken from his car after the shooting.
The men fled in a black SUV.
