Rapper Flo Rida has been ordered to pay $50,000 in legal fees to Alexis Adams, the mother of his youngest son, Zohar Paxton, 2.
In a court hearing on Monday in New York City, Flo Rida, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, was ordered to continue paying Adams $9,000 a month in child support for Zohar.
Judge Shira Atzmon also ordered Dillard to pay Adams $50,000 a month in lawyer’s fees, according to Bossip.
Dillard, 39, was not in court on Monday, but he participated in the hearing via telephone.
Adams filed documents claiming she had sexual encounters with the “Low” singer between December 2015 and January 2016, when she fell pregnant with the couple’s son.
Adams claimed Dillard refused to acknowledge he was the father, even after taking a paternity test the following December (2016), which proved he was 99.9 per cent the child’s biological dad.
Dillard attempted to get the case dismissed and moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where Adams once owned a business.
Dillard was previously ordered to pay Adams’ legal fees, but he did not cut a check.
“Oftentimes it’s the party with the money that ends up paying the attorney’s fees,” Judge Atzmon told Dillard. “It might not seem fair to you, it might not seem right to you, but she had to seek this petition.”
The parties will return to court later this week, where Dillard is expected to produce financial documents so the judge can determine a permanent child support amount.
Dillard also has 2 sons from previous relationships.
