Ex NFL player Justin Crawford was arrested and charged with sodomy, aggravated child molestation and incest in the rape of a 12-year-old relative in his home while his wife slept.
Crawford, 23, admitted having intercourse with the child, but he claimed it was all her idea.
Police say the ex Atlanta Falcons player assaulted the girl in the living room of his home while his wife slept in a bedroom. He is also charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes.
According to police detective Mark Scruggs, Crawford’s wife got out of bed around 4 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, and discovered her husband with an erect penis standing over the underage girl.
Scruggs said the wife “felt uneasy” and went back to bed. But she later told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that she ran into the kitchen after observing her husband standing over the child.
“I did not see anyone having sex, or I would have called the police right away, she said.
The child later told her mother that she was sleeping on the living room sofa when Crawford woke her and forced her to perform oral sex and have intercourse, according to the Ledger-Enquirer.
Crawford initially denied the accusations, but he eventually came clean, and claimed it was the girl’s idea.
According to Radar Online, Crawford is currently being held without bond at the Muscogee County Jail. He has not entered a plea.
