Jess Hilarious is catching heat after she tweeted she was nervous about four bearded Muslims on her flight. The plane was evacuated and the four Muslim passengers did not return to the plane.
Jess, whose real name is Jessica Moore, went off on a profanity-laced rant after other passengers approached her and called her racist.
The stand up comedienne, who is currently on a nationwide comedy tour, resented being labeled a racist.
“Ni–as know I’m never f—ing racist, but I spotted something and I put it out earlier and we just got evacuated from our plane,” Moore said in an Instagram story after the plane was evacuated.
She was upset that her Instagram followers denied her feelings of fear that were very real to her. In a later video the comedienne, who also sells hair weave online, issued a half-apology.
She issued her half apology during the same weekend that 50 people were killed at 2 mosques in a shooting rampage in New Zealand.
“Don’t play with me. If I’m scared, I’m scared. F— y’all! F— how y’all feel. Y’all mad at me because I don’t side with every other Black person. ‘Cause I don’t side with every other race,” she said.
“F— y’all. I feel how I feel. I felt threatened, and that was that. F— y’all!”
“Apologize b-tch! That’s what y’all need to do,” she added.
She continued, “We were evacuated b-tch! Why? Why? With no reason explained at all. No technical difficulties or nothing. Y’all gon’ listen to Jess with the mess one day. Heh! ‘Cause my news is real.”
Jess’s co-star comedian Lil Rel also issued an apology, distancing himself from the controversy involving Jess.
“As I leave Chicago I’m leaving with one thought and one thought only,” he wrote in a post on Instagram early Monday. “I can only control the actions of one person and one person only and that person is me which is already a very tuff job lol… Be kind. Show empathy and inform the misinformed… Anger solves nothing but empathy and correct information helps us understand each other… Have a dope week peeps!!! #GoodMorning”.
