She explained that 17,000 sequins were stitched onto the jacket and 40,000 attached to the pants. The comedic actress said she was nervous about her big debut on the pink carpet. “I’ve been taking laxatives all day to get my stomach flat, so we’ll see what happens.”

The theme for the Met Gala is “Camp: Notes on Fashion”, which Vogue magazine described as “artifice and style and exaggeration.” The Gala raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Arts Costume Institute.
Serena delighted in a canary yellow dress and bustier by Versace. The playful gown is festooned with Autumn leaves and Swarovski crystals embroidery. Serena is among the “confirmed” guests, meaning she is there by invitation. Other guests are unconfirmed, meaning they were not invited but they showed up anyway.
