Ciara’s new album Beauty Marks sold just 10,000 copies in its first week of release. The GRAMMY Award-winning global superstar released her highly anticipated seventh studio album on May 10.
The title track off the album – which peaked at No. 1 in New Zealand – was supported by an emotional music video featuring never-before-seen home footage from her wedding ceremony to Russell Wilson in 2016.
Ciara, 33, signed a new deal with Warner Bros. Records in 2017. That same year, she launched her entertainment company Beauty Marks Entertainment. Ciara’s music is distributed by Alternative Distribution Alliance, an independent distributor under Warner Bros.
The album sales are disappointing considering all the promotion she did from coast-to-coast.
But thanks to her husband Russell Wilson’s money, Ciara says she feels as giddy and excited as she did at the start of her career.
“I was this young girl excited to be living my dreams and having the best time. I’m back to that phase again.”
