Country/trap rapper Lil Nas X dropped his long-awaited debut 7 EP, featuring fan favorites “Old Town Road” (Billy Ray Cyrus remix), “Panini” and “Rodeo” featuring Cardi B.
The 20-year-old one-hit wonder continues his domination atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Old Town Road” is still No. 1 for 11 weeks in a row, making it the second-longest running debut single on the chart behind Los Del Rio’s “Macarena.”
The 7 EP features six new songs including “Panini” and “Rodeo” ft. Cardi B (listen to the audio below). Both tracks were produced by Take A Daytrip, while “F9mily” was produced by Travis Barker. Boi-1da produced “Closure.”
The country/trap rapper is eager for a “Panini” remix collaboration with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
“Tryna get gordon ramsay on this panini remix,” he tweeted. While his followers took the plea as a joke, Gordon himself responded a few hours later, tweeting: “Tell me more…”
“Panini”, which debuted on Thursday, June 20, features a sample from Nirvana’s “In Bloom”, off the alternative rock band’s iconic 1991 album Nevermind.
Nas revealed Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, gave him permission to use the sample. Nas, who shares songwriting credit with Kurt Cobain on “Panini”, tweeted “thank you” to the 26-year-old artist and model, whose mother is rock singer and actress Courtney Love.
Kurt took his own life in 1994 at age 27.
