Anderson Cooper was caught off guard during his interview with E. Jean Carroll, who accused President Donald Trump of rape in her new book.
Col Allan, an editor with the NY Post, deleted an article about Carroll’s allegations against Trump. According to the NY Daily News, Allan ordered the Post’s staff to stop writing any more articles about the allegations.
Allan gave the orders to delete the article from the Post’s website after Carroll sat for a bizarre interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN’s AC360.
During the interview, Carroll described the alleged rape which she says took place inside a Locked dressing room in Bergdorf Goodman in 1993.
Cooper compared Carroll’s experience to similar rape allegations made against Trump.
“[Penetration] is the definition of rape – one of the definitions,” said Cooper.
“I’m not the victim,” the 75-year-old author replied. “I was not thrown on the ground and ravished. The word rape carries so many sexual connotations. This was not, this was not sexual,” she added. “It just, it hurt…”
Anderson replied: “But I think most people think of rape as a violent assault. It is not a sexual…”
Cooper seemed stunned when Carroll cut him off, saying, “I think most people think of rape as being sexy. Think of the fantasies.”
Cooper seemed shocked and bewildered, and began stuttering before immediately cutting to a commercial break.
“You’re fascinating to talk to,” said Carroll, as the segment cut to a commercial.
When CNN uploaded clips of AC360 to YouTube, this segment was later deleted.
