Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter makes a cameo appearance in the music video for her mom’s new track “Spirit”.
Beyonce debuted the video, which shows her in a variety of colorful gowns while performing in an African landscape, on ABC’s The Lion King special with Robin Roberts on Tuesday night. Just seconds into the video, seven-year-old BIC strolls across the desert in a pink dress that compliments her mother’s dress.
The camera then pans to a close-up of Blue, with the child staring into the camera as the wind blows through the curly red-haired wig that matches her mom’s lacefront wig.
Elsewhere in the video are gorgeous shots of Beyonce standing in front of a waterfall, laying in a pool of water and performing a flowing dance routine with her group of dancers are interspersed with images of CGI (animation) animals apparently taken from the upcoming The Lion King live-action remake, in which Beyonce voices the character of lioness Nala.
“Spirit” is the first track off Bey’s upcoming album The Lion King: The Gift. Blue also makes an appearance on the song “Brown Skin Girl”. Another track features a collaboration between Beyonce and her husband, aging rap mogul JAY-Z, 50, while other collabos on the album include rappers Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams, and singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez.
