Two brothers took justice into their own hands during a sentencing hearing for their mother’s killer in an Ohio courtroom on Thursday.

Videos show two brothers lunging at Dale Williams, Sr., 62, who pleaded guilty to an aggravated murder charge for the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend, 46-year-old Elizabeth Pledger-Stewart in 2017 in Youngstown, Ohio.

The victim’s daughter was about to give a victim’s impact statement when her brothers suddenly lunged at Williams. The courtroom erupted as one of the brothers grabbed Williams by the leg and dragged him from a chair onto the courtroom floor. He began kicking Williams, who was handcuffed and wearing a prison-issue orange uniform.

As deputies struggled with the two brothers, their sister screamed, “Stop it! Leave him alone!”

One brother was tased by a deputy to stop him from attacking the defendant. Both brothers were arrested and will serve 30 days in jail on contempt of court charges, according to published reports.

Williams’ sentencing hearing was postponed.
