Rapper Snoop Dogg is mourning the loss of his 10-day-old grandson, Kai Love. Kai is the third child of Snoop Dogg’s 25-year-old son, Corde Broadus, who revealed his newborn died on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Corde posted a video online of his daughter kissing Kai, who never left the neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital where he was born on Sept. 15.
The grieving dad also shared the sad news on his Instagram account, writing: “Kai Love 9/15/19 – 9/25/19 My Son Kai brought so much love and positivity into this world. His energy will live on and these 10 days of love will always be special to us. Let’s all cherish life and those we love while we are here.”
The baby’s cause of death was not announced.
Snoop’s wife, Shante, dedicated a heartfelt song to her late grandson on Thursday and posted video of herself tearfully singing along to The Dells’ hit “The Love We Had Stays On My Mind”. Snoop has yet to address the tragedy.
Kai was Snoop and Shante’s fifth grandchild. Snoop and Shante, both 47, have three adult children, Corde, Cordell, and Cori.
