Nicki Minaj and her new husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty tied the knot in a “no frills” wedding on Monday. But now they are planning a huge celebration for family and friends.
The 36-year-old Barbie rapper confirmed she and Kenneth exchanged vows in a video she shared on her Instagram page that showed matching “Mr and Mrs” mugs and “Bride and Groom” baseball caps. In the caption, Nicki revealed her new surname: “Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19.”
Sources tell TMZ that the couple married at a private residence in Los Angeles with just a few members of their immediate families to witness the nuptials, as well as a female minister to conduct the ceremony.
But the newlyweds are planning a proper church service and a huge star-studded celebration in the near future. First they are working on an heir or heiress to Nicki’s rap throne.
The insider added the only reason they had a small service initially is because their marriage license was due to expire, meaning they would have to apply for a new one and start over again if they wanted to marry after the 90-day deadline expired.
Nicki and Kenny’s plans are similar to power couple Justin and Hailey Bieber, who initially wed in a New York courthouse in September 2018. They hosted another wedding service and star-studded celebration last month.
