Jocelyn Savage (or someone pretending to be her) appears to have turned on her longtime boyfriend R. Kelly. Jocelyn is selling her story now that the troubled singer is locked up with no chance of getting out in the foreseeable future.
In multiple interviews Jocelyn repeatedly defended Kelly after cops, acting on tips by parents, raided his Atlanta area home to conduct welfare checks on his harem.
Jocelyn and Kelly’s other girlfriend, Azriel Clary, right, eventually moved with him back to Chicago. “I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that,” Jocelyn said in an interview after the raid.
Jocelyn’s parents accused Kelly of giving her STDs and isolating her from her family. In interviews, Jocelyn said her own father introduced her to the singer when she was 15. Her father allegedly urged her to live with Kelly at age 17 to further her singing career.
As a result of all the publicity generated by the parents, Chicago authorities arrested Kelly on multiple charges including sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Now broke and on her last leg, Jocelyn is willing to throw Kelly under the bus for a dollar.
Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg echoed the sentiments of many who say she is an opportunist looking for a quick payout.
“It is unfortunate that Jocelyn now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert,” he said in a statement to Variety.com.
“Obviously if she were to tell the truth no one would pay so she has, unfortunately, chosen to regurgitate the stories and lies told by others for her own personal profit. We know the real facts, and it was not until the money ran out that she decided anything was wrong. Hopefully people will see it for the obvious profiteering it is.”
R. Kelly fans let Jocelyn know that they won’t support a freeloader who is capable of getting a job to support herself.
Some of her followers left comments saying Popeyes and Chic-fil-A are hiring.
