Rapper DaBaby was arrested in Miami, Florida on a battery charge in connection with an armed robbery investigation.
The 28-year-old rapper was taken into custody by officers on Thursday, Jan. 2.
TMZ.com reports there were seven police cars on the scene when the popular musician was taken into custody.
The rapper was initially detained for questioning about the robbery involving members of his entourage who allegedly jumped a man and stole his money. TMZ later reported that DaBaby had been arrested.
His bond was set at $1,500, according to the website.
DaBaby’s arrest is the latest in a string of legal troubles for the rising rap star. Just two weeks ago, the “Suge” hitmaker, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was arrested on weapons and drug charges following a concert in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.
After being detained for concealing a weapon and being in possession of marijuana, the star hit back at authorities for targeting him whenever he plays in the area, writing on his Instagram Stories: “Dirty a*s police department try to take me to jail every time I got a show in the city.”
DaBaby is already on probation for a weapons charge stemming from an altercation inside a Huntersville Walmart that left one man dead. Police say Jalyn Craig, 19, was shot once in the abdomen. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Saturday, the “Kirk” rapper bumped into Sean “Puffy” Combs outside Club Story on Miami Beach. Combs, 50, told DaBaby he is the hottest rapper in the game right now.
