Nicki Minaj raised eyebrows when she added a last minute verse to her and Doja Cat‘s “Say So” remix after apparently listening to Beyonce‘s impressive rap effort on Megan Thee Stallion‘s “Savage” remix.

Beyonce and Megan dropped the track to great reviews on Thursday. The mother-of-three flexed her rap skills on “Savage,” saying, “If you want to see some real ass, baby here’s your chance.”

On the same day, Nicki and Doja announced they too were dropping a remix. Nicki urged fans to ignore the first leak of “Say So” and wait for the second release that contained this messy verse:

“Why you talkin’ ’bout who body fake? With all them fillers in your face, you just full of hate. That real ass ain’t keep your nigga home. Now you’re lookin silly, that’s word to silicone…”

Speculation ran rampant that Nicki was dissing either Beyonce or talk TV guru Wendy Williams in the remix. But Nicki cleared the air by taking to Instagram and posting: “The line ain’t about Wendy tho #SaySoRemix.”

Both Nicki and Beyonce are pushing 40. It makes sense for them to hitch their wagons to younger artists to stay relevant in a younger market.

The real surprise is that neither woman approached fading star Cardi B for a collabo.
