Reader Daniel B. emailed Sandrarose.com to clarify the race of the two people responsible for a controversial PSA featuring Atlanta strippers.

As I told you yesterday, Tariq Nasheed sparked a lively debate on Twitter.com when he tweeted: “Instead of talking about our tangibles, this is what the white Democrats think will appeal to us.”

According to Daniel, the Atlanta-based creators, Angela Gomes (pictured above left) and Paul Fox, are Black. But that’s even worse than if the filmmakers were Caucasian.

Read Daniel’s email below.

Hey Sandra,

About your article relating to Tariq Nashiid’s [sic] take on Get Your Booty to the Poll…

I say this with all due respect, and out of respect for journalistic standards… something I learned in-depth as a journalism major…GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!

Neither Paul Fox nor Angela Gomes is white. They are black. A simple query of their Facebook profiles would reveal that. Also, in no way, shape or fashion did you even bother to contact them…once again, easy Facebook search…in order to get their own words on THEIR project.

That’s not joirnalism [sic]. That’s one-sided trash, and if you give a damn about black people you’d at the very least represent them for their appropriate race and allow them to speak on their own behalf. Or are you actually a Caucasian troll just trying to stir the pot?

Do better! Yes, I’m highly offended. I’ve known Paul for years, I’ve known his passion for political activism. I know he put his heart and creativity into that PSA, and that everyone involved took it as a very serious undertaking. I will not stand by and allow you to lie and misrepresent him like you have. Do better! Jesus!

Be blessed,
Daniel B.
