Talib Kweli Greene is back on the market. According to reports, his wife DJ Eque, real name Cynthia Greene, filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage.

In court documents, Greene cited irreconcilable differences. Their union did not produce children. Kweli shares two kids, Diani Eshe and Amani Fela Greene, from his past relationship with Darcel Turner.

It’s not clear if Greene asked for spousal support or if they had a prenup.

The 45-year-old rapper is best known as one half of the duo Black Star with fellow Brooklyn rapper Mos Def.

Kweli’s 2007 solo album Eardrum peaked at the #2 position on the Billboard 200 chart and featured collaborations with will.i.am, Kanye West, Just Blaze, and Pharrell Williams. The album spawned the hit single “Listen!!!

The divorce action comes after Kweli was kicked off Twitter for harassing women in August 2020.

Twitter cited the rapper for “repeated violations” (such as) violence, harassment and other similar types of behavior (that) discourage people from expressing themselves”.
