Kanye West is tired of people assuming that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian initiated their divorce.
Kanye packed up and moved to Wyoming 2 years ago. For all intents and purposes, their marriage was over. Kim filed for divorce earlier this year.
But, according to an insider, Kanye is the one who decided not to be married to the reality TV queen any longer.
He is reportedly annoyed that Kim and her family continue to leak unflattering stories about him to the press.
According to a source who spoke to Page Six this week, Kanye blamed the Kardashian’s “huge spin machine” for twisting the public’s perception of him.
The insider said the rap producer is “super annoyed that the story is being constantly presented as her divorcing him,” when, “Actually, it was him saying for a year that they have nothing in common except the kids and he wanted out. She pulled all the stops to try to save the marriage.” And while Kardashian was the first to take the formal legal steps to end their relationship, the source adds that’s because West wanted to let her “file first in order to give her dignity.”
Another source previously told Page Six that, “Even before Kim filed for divorce, Kanye changed his [phone] numbers and said, ‘You can contact me through my security.’ Despite this, she trusts him around the kids. He loves them and is seeing a lot of them. She leaves the house and he arrives and hangs out with the kids. They have an army of nannies so the transition is easy.”
A source previously told E! News the couple are friendly for the sake of the children. “There were no affairs. No one did anything bad. They grew apart.”
