Lil Nas X‘s father rushed to his defense after a viral video showed his drug addict mom strung out on a street corner in Atlanta.
LNX has a close relationship with his dad, Robert Stafford, but he and his mother remain distant.
Earlier this week, a video surfaced showing his mother begging for money and food on a street corner.
Gossipmongers called out LNX for supporting his father and sister while disregarding his strung out mother.
According to bloggers, LNX’s mother kicked him out of her home when he was 9. He went to live with his father, who tried to provide a stable home for the apparently promiscuous youngster.
On Thursday, Stafford took to social media to set the story straight.
The aspiring gospel singer shared a photo of himself posing with LNX and his mother. Stafford called the one-hit rapper the “greatest kid a parent can be BLESSED with.”
“Despite what people say @lilnasx is the greatest kid a parent can be BLESSED with. Although his mom is in a struggle with an addiction she’s STILL a QUEEN and he goes through great lengths to make sure we’re taking care of [sic]. Those who have family members and friends dealing with addiction understands that there ain’t enough money you can throw at this situation to make it right. I dont usually address personal issues publicly but felt like this need to be. Please join us in keeping her in your PRAYERS. And to those out there trying to create a false story you wont prosper. #controlthenarrative.”
