Moneybagg Yo revealed his mother has tested positive for Covid-19 and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
The distressed rapper shared his mom’s medical diagnoses in a since-deleted tweet. He seemed baffled that his mother was diagnosed with pneumonia and Covid-19 after she apparently took the Covid-19 vaccine (according to Facebook posts).
“Dam mane how df My mama got COVID and pneumonia,” he tweeted on April 30, “smh I need y’all prayers right now.”
The 29-year-old Memphis native, who was born Demario DeWayne White Jr., didn’t share his mother’s current condition.
The news comes after the rapper was nearly canceled for bragging about his wealth back in February.
He shared a series of tweets bragging that he raked in $2 million from $200K booking fees during the pandemic.
“Not gone lie I made a couple [millions] in da pandemic, ion want it to end,” he tweeted. “I feel like the pandemic help a lot of people.”
Following the backlash, Moneybagg returned to Twitter to apologize.
“I apologize to everybody I offended my comment was very insensitive it was not my intent to hurt anyone.”
