TikTok star Anthony Barajas is on life support after a shooting at a California theater claimed the life of his girlfriend.
The 19 year old TikTok influencer was mortally wounded during a shooting at a movie theater in Corona, California on July 26.
Anthony Barajas is a TikTok star who uses the name @itsanthonymichael and has more than one million followers.
Anthony and his friend Rylee Goodrich, 18, were watching horror film “The Forever Purge” when they were shot inside the theater.
Rylee was reported dead at the scene. Anthony is on life support in an intensive care unit.
Theater workers didn’t hear gunshots. They found the victims while cleaning out the theater after the movie ended at 9:30 p.m. Monday.
“During the actual movie time, no one apparently heard the gunshot,” employee Kailyn Dillon told CBSLA Tuesday.
“I know that we do have security bag checks that we do on the daily and, unfortunately, I’m not sure if just was missed or if it was in a holster on their belt,” she said.
Receipts show a total of six tickets were purchased for that showing of “The Forever Purge” film.
Detectives arrested Joseph Jimenez, 20, on Tuesday, July 27, after issuing a search warrant. A motive has not yet been revealed.
Anthony’s cousin, Jamie Bacon, shared a heartbreaking update to Twitter on Wednesday, writing:
“My cousin was shot on Monday night. He won’t make it. The family could use help with medical bills and beyond. At the very least, prayers, thoughts, vibes needed please.”
Rylee’s cousin, Ashley-Starr Cole, said Rylee was shot in the back of her head by someone sitting behind her in the theater. Anthony was also shot in the back of the head.
The family has created a GoFundMe.com to raise donations to cover Rylee’s medical costs.
