Updated from a post originally published on June 30, 2021:
Turquoise Miami, mother of rapper Fetty Wap‘s daughter, Lauren Maxwell, confirmed the child’s death on Instagram — two months after Lauren passed away.
Rumors first circulated in June that the child died of unknown causes.
Sandrarose.com readers were so distraught over the news that I deleted the post.
Lauren was born to the 30-year-old New Jersey native Fetty and model, rapper Turquoise Miami, on February 7th, 2017.
The child had reportedly undergone surgery for an undisclosed condition in 2019.
Fans hit back at online trolls who claimed Lauren’s death was a “sacrifice.”
Fetty has 5 other children by 5 women and is a constant presence in his children’s lives. He shared a photo gallery of his children last week.
He captioned the photo gallery: “Pieces of my heart [heart emoji] ….. It’s them over anything or anybody.”
Fetty is best known for his viral single “Trap Queen,” which debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 2015. He was signed to 300 Entertainment in 2014.
