Turquoise Miami, the mother of rapper Fetty Wap‘s late 4-year-old daughter, Lauren Maxwell, denies the cause of death listed on Lauren’s death certificate.
Lauren died from a cardiac arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) at home in Atlanta on June 24, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ.
She was born with a congenital heart defect on February 7th, 2017, and had undergone open heart surgery in 2019.
Hours after TMZ reported Thursday that Lauren died from an irregular heartbeat, Turquoise took to her Instagram Story to dispute the cause of death.
She lashed out at TMZ for “stealing” the death certificate and publishing misinformation about her daughter.
“This is what y’all people do for fun. F–k all y’all. Her death certificate says cardiac arrhythmia due to a congenital heart defect BUT THAT IS NOT THE FULL CAUSE OF HER DEATH THAT IS WHY THE AUTOPSY HASN’T COME BACK!
“HOW DARE Y’ALL GO STEAL MY CHILD’S DEATH CERTIFICATE AND ANNOUNCE THE CAUSE OF DEATH BEFORE ANYBODY WAS READY. THERE IS A REASON WHY! HER AUTOPSY ISN’T BACK YET.”
In another post Turquoise accused TMZ of exploiting her daughter’s death.
“Y’all love breaking news so bad but this is my life and it’s me without my daughter not none of y’all!. I feel the loneliness every night not none of y’all! Y’all so f–kin Thirsty to report a 4 year old. This is my trauma that is why I posted and moved HOW I FELT COMFORTABLE!”
As rumors about their daughter’s death circulated on social media, Fetty and Turquoise waited nearly 2 months to confirm Lauren’s death.
So far, Fetty Wap hasn’t commented on the death certificate controversy.
Fetty Wap is also father to five other children with multiple women: Amani, 5, Aydin, 10, Khari, 5, Zaviera, 6, and Zy, born in 2018.
The 30-year-old rapper, who was born with glaucoma in both eyes, lost his left eye in childhood. He was fitted with a glass eye prosthesis as a child but he declines to wear one as an adult.
