Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s low income constituents are demanding answers after she attended the $30,000 Met Gala in NYC on Monday night.
The progressive congresswoman wore a $1,000 white gown with the political slogan “Tax the Rich” in red lettering on the back.
She attended the well-heeled event with her stylist, fashion designer Aurora James.
AOC wanted to make a bold statement about the 1% in America, but she ended up making a hypocrite of herself for mingling with the same people she criticizes.
Tickets for the Met Gala ranged from $30,000 – $50,000, with tables reportedly going between $300,000 – $500,000.
Twitter users mocked AOC for being a hypocrite.
What makes @AOC a bigger fraud:
The "tax the rich" dress while she's hanging out with a bunch of wealthy leftwing elites or the lack of masks after spending the past 18 months as one of the biggest authoritarian mask Karens in the country? https://t.co/pE84Pjquh1

If AOC wanted to actually scare the shit out of the attendees at the Met Gala she would wear a dress that says “VAX THE RICH”

Others complained that AOC went maskless for the high society event, while Americans – vaxxed and unvaxxed – are urged to wear masks (Rules for thee, but not for me).
NY: Today, political & Hollywood elites.
NY: Today, your child and non-elites.
Rules for thee, but not for me—strikes AGAIN. pic.twitter.com/Dcejy0ceyH

“Tax the Rich”……But first I’m gonna go have the time of my life partying with them all at the most extravagant over the top party of the year that is essentially a celebration of richness. pic.twitter.com/ZkSUnRkqGs

Twitter users mocked the congresswoman by writing their own slogans on her dress. One Twitter user compared her gown to a Chick-fil-A bag.
Who wore it better? pic.twitter.com/IHQkmEn0as
