A large hospital system in Louisiana is docking the paychecks of employees whose spouses are unvaccinated.
New Orleans-based Ochsner Health Systems sent an internal email to thousands of employees informing them that they will begin subtracting $100 from their paychecks if their spouses are unvaccinated.
A Twitter user shared a copy of the email on social media Thursday.
Good Afternoon,
“You’re receiving this email because you currently have a spouse or domestic partner as a dependent on your 2021 Ochsner benefits plan. To ensure you have additional time to plan ahead for your 2022 benefits options, we’re sharing one of the latest changes directly with you ahead of the materials that will be sent to you electronically and via Ochweb.
New in 2022: Ochsner is implementing a new Spousal COVId Vaccine Fee as part of its 2022 medical plan premiums. This means, if a spouse/domestic partner is covered by one of our medical plans in 2022 and unvaccinated against COVID-19, a $100-per-pay-period fee will apply.”
BREAKING: #OchsnerHealth in LA is now mandating vaccines for spouses of employees.
If your spouse is on your insurance and does not get the jab, they will be imposing a $100 per-pay-period fee.
What started as a $100 incentive to get the jab has now turned into a recurring tax. pic.twitter.com/RBPGKmQj1I

Ochsner Health Systems claims its policy is not a vaccine mandate because employees and their spouses can apply for medical insurance outside of the hospital network.
One doctor who works for Ochsner Health Systems said he will not comply.
So #OchsnerHealth will terminate my staff privileges at their Kenner facility where I have been on staff since 1987 & paid rent to them for 21 years. I am not turning in my health info or vaccine status to their admins.
I could retire now. But now…NFW

It should be noted that Dr. Anthony Fauci, who advises the White House on all things Covid-related, has changed the definition of “fully vaccinated”.
Fauci now claims those who received two doses of Pfizer or Moderna mRNA vaccines are not fully vaccinated unless they receive a third booster shot.
