Women who have children after age 35 are considered high-risk pregnancies. The longer a woman waits to get pregnant, the more she increases her risk of experiencing complications because her eggs are past their expiration date.
Female humans are born with approximately 1 million to 2 million eggs in their bodies. No new eggs are formed in their lifetime.
Children born from eggs older than 35 will likely experience problems with their vision and other deficits later in life.
More doctors are advising young women to freeze their eggs if they plan to wait to start a family after age 30-35.
