Mike Mora, the husband of pop singer Kelis, has died after a battle with stage IV stomach cancer. He was 37.
Mora died on Sunday, his rep confirmed in a statement to ET on Monday, March 14.
“Sadly, it’s true that Mike Mora has passed away. We would ask all to respect Kelis and her family’s privacy as of right now. Thank you.”
Mora, a photographer, revealed he was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer in October 2021. In Instagram posts, he remained optimistic about his chances despite his doctors telling him they could do nothing more for him.
Kelis has not yet commented on her husband’s cancer diagnosis nor his death.
Celebrities paid tribute to Mora in social media posts on Monday.

Photographer Brian Bowen Smith said: “Saddened to hear the news about our dear friend Mike passing away last night.”
And music producer Dallas Austin wrote: “All I can say is that we LOVE YOU DEARLY Mikey”
Kelis, 42, and Mora shared two children, son Shepherd and a daughter. He was also stepfather to her son, Knight, by rapper Nas.
