Rappers Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 members of the Young Slime Life (YSL) street gang were charged with racketeering and gang activity on May 9.

Atlanta rapper Yak Gotti, who signed with Young Thug’s label in 2020, was also indicted. As evidence against Yak Gotti, Fani Willis cited a photo of him standing on rapper YFN Lucci’s Mercedes Benz in the parking lot at Lenox Mall in 2020.

Yak Gotti used the image for the cover of his single “In the Coupe.”

Also indicted were PeeWee Roscoe, Duke and Thug’s brother Unfook. All 28 defendants are sitting in the Fulton County Jail without bond.

Young Thug is accused of giving orders to kill YFN Lucci who is currently locked up on murder charges. Lucci survived at least one attempt on his life in jail earlier this year.

Willis said YSL and other Atlanta gangs are responsible for 75%-80% of violent crimes in Atlanta.

“I said just a week or two ago, it does not matter what your notoriety is or what your fame is, if you come to Fulton County, Georgia and you commit crimes – and certainly if those crimes are in furtherance of a street gang – then you will become a target and focus of this district attorney’s office and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law,” Willis said.
