Eric Holder, the suspect accused of killing Nipsey Hussle, was assaulted in jail and was unable to attend his murder trial on Tuesday.
According to reports, Eric Holder was badly beaten after he left a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday.
The extent of Holder’s injuries weren’t revealed. He was treated for his injuries, but his day in court was canceled on Tuesday.
“Based on some unforeseen circumstances that are no fault of parties here, we won’t be in session today,” Judge H. Clay Jacke announced in court on Tuesday.
Holder is accused of fatally shooting rapper Nipsey Hussle on March 31, 2019 in the South Central Los Angeles shopping center the rap mogul owned.
Bryannita Nicholson, 35, who drove Holder to the shopping center that day, testified last week that she heard gunshots ring out moments after Holder got out of the car.
She said Holder soon returned to the car. “I was like, ‘What happened?,'” Nicholson testified. “He said, ‘You talk too much. I ought to slap you.’ And he was just like, ‘Drive! Drive!'” she said.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Wednesday but could continue into Thursday. Holder has pleaded not guilty. He faces life in prison if convicted.
