A royal expert said Kate Middleton, 40, and Prince William, 39, are “modern parents” who use “emotional intelligence” to discipline their three children.
American parents are not taught to use emotional intelligence to discipline their kids.
Thankfully the British royals have evolved beyond using barbaric methods to discipline their children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and 4-year-old Prince Louis.
Kate and William have the eyes of the world upon them as they raise future kings of England.
Kate’s struggle to balance motherhood with grace and elegance was on full display last week during the Platinum Jubilee Pageant when her son Louis’ antics stole the show.
American moms were in awe of Kate’s patience and willingness to let Prince Louis be a child.
Royal expert Jennie Bond tells OK! magazine, “I’ve read that they have a very modern way of parenting where, instead of putting your child on the naughty step, you allow your child to explain why they feel how they do and have a conversation about it so they can express themselves and calm down that way.”
Bond said Kate and William are “making a good job of giving their children as much of a normal upbringing as possible.”
“The result seems to be that they are children who are broadly well behaved,” she said of Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She said Louis was simply being a normal 4 year old boy. “Louis didn’t misbehave over the Jubilee, but he was mischievous as four year olds are,” said Bond.
Hilarity ensued when little Louis was caught on camera putting his hand over his mother’s mouth to shush her.
But Americans noted how well-behaved Prince George and Princess Charlotte were during Sunday’s pageant, which marked the finale of the 4-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
“I love how Prince George and Princess Charlotte sang along with their parents,” one commenter wrote.
Bond said Prince William and Kate should be commended for using emotional intelligence to discipline their children.
“The family dynamics look to be very normal,” she said. “They both, William in particular, have spoken before about the importance of mental health and giving their children emotional intelligence and the space to tell their parents how they’re feeling and what their emotions are.”
