Former NFL running back Herschel Walker admits he has a 10-year-old son who he has never publicly claimed.

Walker, who is campaigning for the U.S. Senate, revealed his secret son after The Daily Beast published a report about the child.

The Daily Beast reported that the child’s mother sued Walker in 2013 for child support and to prove paternity. The DNA test revealed Walker was the father and he was forced to pay child support when the boy was two years old. The child has Walker’s last name but he is not present in the boy’s life.

Walker’s campaign manager, Scott Paradise, said in a statement to DailyMail.com that Walker provides financial support for the child and is proud of his children.

“Herschel had a child years ago when he wasn’t married. He’s supported the child and continues to do so. He’s proud of his children. To suggest that Herschel is ‘hiding’ the child because he hasn’t used him in his political campaign is offensive and absurd.”

The Heisman Trophy winner and former Dallas Cowboys star has only publicly claimed his 22-year-old son, Christian, who is openly gay.

Walker, 60, has spoken out against fatherless homes in the Black community. He has lectured other men about abandoning their children.

In a 2020 interview, Walker said, “if you have a child with a woman — even if you have to leave that woman — you don’t leave that child.”

According to government statistics, fatherless homes is the number 1 problem in America.

A child without a father is more likely to grow up and commit crimes, be poor, or drop out of school and end up in prison.

Politician Bakari Sellers tweeted on Tuesday:

“Herschel Walker out here lecturing black men on fatherhood and ain’t seen his kid since Obama’s first term.”

“I have a 17-year-old, Christian. I love that dude. I love him to death,” Walker said in 2017. “He’s 17, he’s trying to pull away. I tell him, ‘Hey, dude, until you’re big enough to throw me off, boy I’m going to kiss you and hug you.”

Walker added, “if you got a child, hug your child every day.”
