Racists are flooding Disney’s ‘Little Mermaid’ trailer with offensive comments and over 1.5 million downvotes on YouTube.
Disney released the live-action Little Mermaid trailer featuring Halle Bailey singing “Part of Your World.”
The trailer, which has over 18 million views and 200,000+ comments, received over 1.5 million dislikes on YouTube.
YouTube previously disabled the dislike count, but a Chrome browser extension restores the downvote function to make dislikes visible on YouTube videos.

‘Mermaid’ fans question why Disney didn’t simply create a new character for Bailey, rather than hijack a white character for political correctness.
Some on Black Twitter complained that Disney is “pandering” to Black people.
One person wrote: “Who asked her to play this iconic role? The part should have gone to a white actress who can also sing and dance.”
Another person wrote: “which is more likely? that they just felt like making the little mermaid black as an artistic choice? or that they’re pandering to black people during a time when being black has been heavily politicized through “black lives matter.”
A third person wrote: “This is wrong the actor supposed to be white keep it original.”
