An Amazon driver was killed by 2 dogs while delivering a package to a house in the Wood Heights area of Excelsior Springs, Missouri on Monday evening.
Concerned residents called the Ray County Sheriff’s Office to report a delivery truck parked in front of the house for hours.
First responders arrived to find the mauled body of the Amazon driver in the yard of the property, according to ABC News’ Kansas City affiliate KMBC.
2 dogs in the yard were shot and killed by a deputy who observed dozens of dog bites on the man’s body.
It is unclear if the residents were at home during the time of the mauling.
Amazon issued a statement obtained by ABC News:
“We’re deeply saddened by tonight’s tragic incident involving a member of our Amazon family and will be providing support to the team and the driver’s loved ones. We are assisting law enforcement in their investigation.”
The delivery driver has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
