Janet Jackson was seen leaving the Alexander McQueen Spring/Summer 2023 Womenswear Show in London, England.
Earlier, she celebrated the 25th anniversary of her “most difficult album” The Velvet Rope. Janet commemorated the 25th anniversary of her 1997 album with a private, invitation-only party at Soho House in London.
“Hey you guys. Thank you so much… this is such an incredible moment for me. I love you so much… and I am going to go into The Velvet Rope 25th anniversary party right now and surprise all of my friends and fans,” she said in an Instagram Live video before entering the party.
Inside the party, the senior vice president of her Rhythm Nation entertainment company, Joey Harris, introduced the shy superstar, who spoke to the crowd.
“They asked me to come and say a few words to you guys and you know how I am… I’m not a talker,” she said.
Jackson’s longtime producer Jimmy Jam appeared on a giant screen behind her.
“Out of all the albums that I created, and especially with Jimmy and Terry [Lewis], it was the most difficult album for me to create,” she told the crowd.
“I was going through so much in my life, and it was so deep in trying to find and figure out who I am, where I stand… It’s the closest project I’ve ever done to my heart, so thank you guys once again for all of this.”
