Ari Lennox still can’t find love in the new music video for her song “POF” off her age/sex/location album on Dreamville / Interscope Records.
The 31-year-old Washington D.C. native, born Courtney Shanade Salter, returns in the stunning visual which plays on the song title “POF” (plenty of fish). The “Pressure” singer suffers through a string of bad dates off the popular dating app.
“Lord knows I don’t need no one/But it sure would be sweet,” she sings.
After multiple dating flops, she seemingly finds her match – but, in a twist, the date leads directly into her music video for “Hoodie,” which drew plenty of buzz for its own surprise ending.
Both “POF” and “Hoodie” are on Ari’s hotly anticipated, age/sex/location, which was released last month to wide acclaim.
Pitchfork called the album “her most assured-sounding project yet” and praised the work as “a bountiful exploration of what it truly means to be grown and sexy,” while Rolling Stone declared, “She needs her flowers now.”
