A 17-year-old boy turned himself in for the murder of aspiring rapper Koko Da Doll.

The Atlanta Police Department said Jemarcus Jernigen turned himself in after the APD issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday.

Jernigan is facing multiple charges including murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.

The APD’s Homicide Unit released images and video of Jernigan and another person of interest on Wednesday. The other person, seen in a video clip wearing a red Atlanta Falcons jersey, is still at large.

Koko, also known as Rasheeda Williams, was shot at a strip mall on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Hamilton E. Holmes Drive near Holmes Plaza across from Wendy’s on April 18.

Medics found the 35-year-old sex worker suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. Koko was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Koko is the second male-to-female transgender to be killed by gun violence in Atlanta in April. A third MTF transgender was killed in Atlanta earlier this year.

In a statement, the Atlanta Police Department said the three cases are not related.

Detectives are “investigating three violent crimes involving transgender women this year. While these individual incidents are unrelated, we are very aware of the epidemic-level violence against Black and brown transgender women in America.”

“We understand the impact violence has on all our communities and we understand some acts of violence bring about legitimate concerns of whether the incident was motivated by hate,” police said.
