The suspect who killed a woman and wounded 4 others in a mass shooting at a medical facility in Atlanta was arrested in Cobb County Wednesday night.
24-year-old Deion Patterson was arrested by Cobb County police at an apartment complex near The Battery. He was arrested without resistance.
A police source told CNN the suspect and his mother arrived at the Northside Medical building for a mental health appointment for himself around noon Wednesday. At some point, the suspect became enraged and began shooting.
A 39-year-old woman was killed in a waiting room, police confirmed.
Four women were transported to Grady Hospital in downtown Atlanta. Three of the patients are in critical condition, Dr. Robert Jansen, chief medical officer at Grady Health System, told reporters.
A fourth victim was treated in the ER and is in stable condition.

Authorities released images of the suspect wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.
His mother, who was uninjured, is cooperating with police. Minyone Patterson told The Daily Beast her son opened fire because he was prescribed “messed up medication.”
“The damn VA gave him some messed up medication. And all he wanted was an Ativan,” she said. Ativan is prescribed for anxiety disorders.
Law enforcement agencies are searching for the gunman in Cobb County after he carjacked a vehicle in Atlanta.
The vehicle was located abandoned in a parking garage on Heritage Court near The Battery in Cobb County.
“We believe he carjacked a vehicle a short distance away and was able to flee the scene as the law enforcement agencies were descending on this area,” a police official said.
