The United States is in deep political turmoil. A former sitting president has been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice led by the current sitting president.
Former President Donald Trump faces 7 counts of “mishandling” more than 100 classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in West Palm Beach, Fla.
He was ordered to appear in federal court in Florida on Tuesday.
Trump, 76, announced the historic indictment in a video posted on his Truth Social app.
Dr. Ben Carson was among those reacting to the news on Thursday: “This is not the America I grew up in,” he tweeted.
The distinguished neurosurgeon served as the 17th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under Trump from 2017 to 2021.
Meanwhile, President Biden cracked jokes during a press conference at the White House on Thursday.
“Where’s the money?” Biden said when a reporter asked about an FBI document that proves he accepted a $5 million “bribe” from Ukraine. The president dismissed the House GOP investigation as “malarkey.”
A reporter asks Joe Biden about allegations that he was involved in a criminal bribery scheme:

Tesla founder Elon Musk reacted to Trump’s indictment in a tweet on Thursday.
There does seem to be far higher interest in pursuing Trump compared to other people in politics.
Very important that the justice system rebut what appears to be differential enforcement or they will lose public trust.

Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy also spoke out about the double standard that exists in the justice system.
We can’t have two tiers of justice: one for Trump, another for Biden. One for Assange, another for Manning. One for BLM/Antifa, another for peaceful protesters on Jan 6.
I never thought we’d see the day when the U.S. President deputizes the DOJ to arrest his lead rival in the…

Today is indeed a dark day for the United States of America.
It is unconscionable for a President to indict the leading candidate opposing him. Joe Biden kept classified documents for decades.
I, and every American who believes in the rule of law, stand with President Trump…

Biden is attacking his most likely 2024 opponent. He’s using the justice system to preemptively steal the 2024 election. This is what’s happening, plain and simple.

Biden unleashed the Trump indictment on the same day that House Republicans were able to publicize evidence of his $5 million Ukraine bribery scandal
That’s not an accident
He is covering up his family’s corruption by maliciously prosecuting his 2024 opponent
