Friend of the blog, Tami Reed, of Talkingwithtami.com, attended The Black Excellence Brunch at the historic National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday, June 11.

Special guests included former R&B singer-turned country music singer, K. Michelle, who now goes by the stage moniker “Puddin.” She is pictured above with Black Excellence Brunch founder, Trell Thomas.

The Black Excellence Brunch was held in partnership with the Country Music Association during its milestone 50th anniversary celebration of CMA Fest.

The well-attended event celebrated the career of Grammy-winning producer and BMI music executive, Shannon Sanders, pictured left with Puddin, Guest, and Trell Thomas. The Black Excellence Brunch is one of the most anticipated and exclusive brunches in Los Angeles that brings together an inspiring room of entertainment executives, creatives, and impactful professionals from all walks of life.

The brunch brought the Hollywood flair to Nashville to celebrate the innovators, creatives, legends and new school leaders in country music. The private brunch included live performances, amazing vibes, mimosas, thematic cocktails, delicious food, and an electrifying fireside chat led by The Black Excellence Brunch founder, Trell Thomas with honoree, BMI’s Shannon Sanders.

Attendees included ABC’s newest “Bachelorette” Charity Lawson (pictured), Tiera Kennedy, Camille Parker, Shy Carter, Skyelor Anderson, Sam Pounds, Willie Jones, Tony Evans, Miko Marks, O.N.E the Duo, Frankie Staton, Michael Eric Dyson, the Black Opry’s Holly G, and other entertainment influencers and executives in Country Music.

The event series is based on the family tradition of “Sunday Dinner.”. It is an event series that brings together millennials of color from all industries and professions in an effort to build real community over what can be considered the favorite millennial pastime, “brunch.”

As guests arrived at the Black Excellence Brunch, they enjoyed signature cocktails such as the Tennessee Whiskey Mule, and a delicious brunch menu filled with southern comfort food. Guests also enjoyed a live performance from Tennessee native/ R&B and Country Music songstress, K. Michelle who now performs under the moniker of her new stage name “Puddin.” Guests also enjoyed dancing, networking, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old friends.
