Rapper Gillie Da Kid’s son YNG Cheese (right) was gunned down in a triple shooting in Philadelphia on Thursday (July 20).

According to police, the 25-year-old aspiring rapper was one of three men shot on the 5800 block of Mascher Street in the Olney neighborhood at 8:24 p.m.

YNG Cheese was shot in the back and died at a local hospital, CBS News reports.

Two other male victims, ages 28 and 31, were also shot and taken to the hospital. Both men are listed in stable condition.

YNG is the eldest son of Philly rap legend Gillie Da Kid and his wife of 25 years, Regina Little. They have 5 children and a grandchild, according to Distractify.

In 2021, YNG Cheese welcomed a son, Chase Amari Dash.

Gillie, born Nasir Fard, currently co-hosts the hip-hop podcast Million Dollaz Worth of Game alongside Wallace Peeples. Gillie has 3.2 million followers on Instagram.

Regina is an Emmy-nominated makeup artist who worked on shows such as Chase Street and WandaVision.

Earlier this month, Gillie made an impassioned plea to stop the killing in Philly.

“We looking real sad out here, Philly,” he said.

“Eight n-ggas shot outside out West, four n-ggas dead, two kids, shot somebody grandmom. When the f-ck n-ggas’ kids and grandmoms been on the menu? When is n-ggas’ grandmoms and kids been on the menu, man?”

“There was a time you seen a n-gga and was beefing with a n-gga, you seen him with his kids and give him the, ‘Oh, you lucky you with your kids, bitch.’ Because you didn’t even want that type of karma on you because the kids ain’t have nothing to do with this shit.”

Gillie, 38, is scheduled to host Gillie Fest, a concert and comedy show, in honor of his birthday next Saturday night (July 29) at Franklin Music Hall.
