The final nails are going into Hip-Hop’s coffin, according to Ebro Darden, co-host of Hot 97 morning show, “Ebro in the Morning.”

Darden sparked debate on Thursday when he tweeted:

“I got a call saying … ‘It should be noted many major record labels have deprioritized signing Rappers.’ The focus is now African Music & Latin Music.”

Darden issued a dire warning to aspiring rappers.

“Rappers better stop being boring and talking about the same sh-t over and over, chasing TikTok success and comment sections,” he wrote.

Yvette Carnell, founder of the ADOS reparations movement, responded to Darden’s tweet, writing: “And it’s not just happening in football. Why do you think Afrobeats is being pushed on us? Marketed so heavily?”

Record labels have been criticized for contributing to rising crime in major cities by signing gang members who can’t rap.

Rappers such as Tory Lanez (pictured), Young Thug, Fetty Wap, and YNW Melly are locked up in jail or prison.

Many so-called “drill” rappers are having difficulty booking shows at venues due to the violence they attract.
