The aspiring model is the daughter of Kimora Lee Simmons and Russell Simmons.

The Harvard graduate celebrated her birthday with a bash in SoHo on Sept. 12. The venue was decorated with photos from Aoki’s cover shoot.

The bash was attended by models, designers, and politicians alike, according to Teen Vogue.

Teen Vogue Executive Editor Danielle Kwateng told party guests choosing Aoki for the cover “just made sense” due to her impressive academic and modeling background.

The news comes days after Aoki called out her Instagram followers for body-shaming her after she lost a little weight recently.

According to Rhymeswithsnitch, Aoki shared an Instagram photo of herself on holiday in Tokyo, Japan. But her followers expressed concern about her appearance. One follower suggested that she cut back on her dieting and exercise regimen.

Another follower said Aoki resembled the cartoon character Olive Oyl from the Popeye comic strip. Someone else wrote, “It’s giving string bean.”

When Aoki read the comments, she lashed out in an Instagram Story post.

“Y’all forgot your manners on this one cause whaatttt (olive oyl was funny I’ll allow it but the rest!! Come on guys).”
