A single father-of-6 from Roseville, California, was gifted a car after he was seen riding his bike to work for six months.

Security guard Isaac Taylor’s car was totaled in an accident earlier this year, according to PEOPLE. He was forced to ride his bike to work every day to provide for his six children, ages 3 to 19 years old.

“It was early in the morning after working a full graveyard shift, 10-hour shift. It was very tough,” Taylor told CBS News, referring to the car accident. “I’ve been through a lot, so struggle is just part of getting to the next big thing,” said Taylor.

A nonprofit decided to help Taylor after they heard that he rode his bike to work every day.

Family Promise’s leaders wrote a letter on his behalf to the NABC Recycled Rides Program, which gifted Taylor a newly restored 2019 Hyundai Elantra.

Taylor said he cried tears of joy when he saw the car.

“Tears of joy. Tears of feeling the pain of riding the bike back and forth. It all set in — what I went through to get to where I’m at now,” he said.
